THINGS TO KNOW / TIPS:
Put a bottle of water next to your toothbrush to remind you not to drink the tap water.
Do not leave ANY food on counters, it will invite ants and pests. You are in a tropical open-air environment which means critters have room to roam. We advise you to put everything possible in the refrigerator.
The neighborhood is called El Centro. It is in the center of PV and if you have never stayed in the center of a city before, it can be loud at times. Not all the time, but sometimes.
Credit cards are only accepted in some places. Make sure to have cash on hand.
TRANSPORTATION:
TAXI / UBER:
You’re up a very steep hill and will most likely encounter the squealing of tires from brave souls trying to get their vehicle up Calle Iturbide. It’s a feat and your taxi driver will appreciate it if you direct them to the high road route >> Iturbide y Miramar - Centro neighborhood. Calle Corona is the go-to route to get to Calle Miramar. Then get dropped off at the corner of Iturbide and Miramar.
We recommend you walk down to the corner of Iturbide and Matamoros to pick up an Uber. Regular taxis can be picked up at the bottom of the hill at Iturbide and Hildalgo. Be sure to negotiate the price of taxis before you get in.
